It’s a dream come true…

Yes okay I started off with a cheesy title but it is a dream come true…now most of you are probably wondering what I am on about…and to be honest I don’t blame you because I have to pinch myself to remind myself this is actually happening, but yes MY BOOK IS BEING PUBLISHED!! Lemme give you a moment to re-read and processes what I just wrote because I cannot believe it either!!

Yes I am now a published author, well partly.

Let me start from the beginning. In January of this year I signed a contract with a small and new publishing company InkSpell Publishing. They are an amazing publishing company with amazing and talented authors, publishers, editors, designers etc…. We then go to working on the edits and the cover, this was the most  fun.

The editing was interesting work as I got to see what made sense to me didn’t actually make sense to my editor so this meant that it wouldn’t have made sense to my audience..right? Luckily thanks to the amazing work of a certain Miss Laura McCann I didn’t have that many edits to do, which was great. Then came the fun part…the cover. I had already created a cover, using my very bad photoshop and editing skills, however thanks to our amazing designer she created me a stunning cover :) Oh yes we also changed the title :)

Next came the promotion side which I am still working on. Seeing as the book isn’t released until May 21st and all the writers at InkSpell are fairly new FreeReads Week was created. FreeReads Week was when each of us wrote a short story and got it published on a certain day. My short story is called ‘Coming Together’ please check it out and let me know what you think :)

Also ‘Familiar Ties‘ is up for pre-order in both print and ebook and I hope you guys pre-order it, it is available internationally so I am excited to hear what you all have to say about it :)

And yeah it had been a whirlwind of a few months but all the hard work had paid of and I am very excited and still feel like I am in a dream. But none of this would have been possible without the trust and friendship of all of you keeping me going during all the bad times in my life.

And before I forget, yes I’ve written under a penname in case you were confused. Naya means captain in my culture and  Nikki means victory of the people in Greek. I wanted Naya because I am the captain of my life and nobody can control me and Nikki because in the end we all want to be victorious in whatever we do right? So please check out my blog and follow me on twitter (@NikkiNaya or @flawedangelxx) and see how my journey progresses :)

Thanks to all of you for believing in me…
