Southern Inspiraton: Interior Design
Today we’re looking at a couple North Carolina based designers who specialize in Southern styles…
Mary Jo Shipman- a native of Wilmington, North Carolina, was inspired by a Greek grandmother who believed in living life in the South to the fullest, especially through food, and a contractor father who introduced Mary Jo to her passion for design and love of family. From class room parties for children to black-tie political events attended by dignataries from all over the Country, Mary Jo was always the “go-to” girl. Whether it was the “re-do” of a room, or the design and construction of her own home, Mary Jo defined “Southern Chic” in a very unique way. Her style blends southern traditions with contemporary comfort by using design elements normally not used.
